LifeSpan Resources provides a hot mid-day meal Monday through Friday to senior citizens at nutrition sites in each county and weekly frozen meal delivery to the home bound. Reservations for hot meals should be made 24 hours ahead by calling the Nutrition Site.

Meals To Go! (homebound frozen meals)

Meals are prepared by Masterson’s Catering in Louisville, Kentucky, and carefully planned by a Registered Dietitian to meet 1/3 of the recommended daily allowances established by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Meals are planned to ensure low salt, fat and sugar. A typical meal will consist of meat, vegetable, low-sugar dessert, soft whole grain bread and 1% milk. The current Hot Meal menu (served at our Congregate Meal Sites) can be viewed by clicking on the link above.

Homebound Meal choices include Regular, Diabetic, Soft Foods and Breakfast boxes. Deliveries are made weekly; boxes include 7 complete meals.  Holidays and weekend meal needs are met with the weekly delivery.


We appreciate a donation toward the meal. The suggested donation is $2.50 per meal. Envelopes are provided with the homebound meals and participants can choose to donate daily, weekly or monthly. Each Nutrition Site has a donation box and envelopes for your giving convenience.  Donations can remain anonymous.


Meals To Go!  home delivered meals are available on a long-term or short-term basis. To receive home delivery, you must meet the following criteria:
Have a physical or mental impairment that prohibits meal preparation or no one available to prepare meals.

For Information on the Meals To Go! Program and to request home delivery, contact LifeSpan Resources and speak with an Options Counselor to complete an Intake. Information needed for the Intake includes:

Social Security Number
Date of Birth
Monthly Income Amount
Emergency contact name, phone number and relationship

Receiving no cost home delivery depends on meeting eligibility requirements, available public funding, and length of wait list.  Every effort is made to minimize wait time for home delivered meal service.


Home delivery is also available as a fee-for-service with no stringent eligibility requirements and no wait list. Meals To Go! is available to any one of any age who wishes to receive a home-delivered meal. Meal cost is $45.50 per week and includes 7 complete meals with meat, vegetables, soft whole grain bread, 1% milk and low-sugar dessert. Menu choices include regular, diabetic, soft foods and breakfast boxes.


Nutrition Meal sites will be closed for holidays.  Home delivered meals will be delivered on holidays (depending on scheduled weekly deliveries).


To join us for a hot mid-day meal at one of our 6 Nutrition Sites please call in advance (at least 1 business day) to reserve a meal.  Meals orders are placed by noon the previous day. Please make a reservation with the Nutrition Site before this time so we may order your meal.

Nutrition Sites offer social and wellness activities for all participants. These activities include bingo, health screenings, social activities, wellness programs, music programs, and more. Falls Prevention, HealthRhythms drumming circles, Walk with Ease, Diabetes Education, Tai Chi for arthritis, FeelGood Bingo, Senior Farmer’s Market Coupon Program and Senior Medicare Patrol are a few of the current offerings. Check with the meal site manager for a calendar of activities.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

 The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables to senior participants age 60+ who meet eligibility criteria.  Eligible seniors receive coupon vouchers valued at $20 to purchase produce at a locally-approved farmers market or farm stand (processed foods and baked goods are not allowed).  LifeSpan will hold voucher distributions at multiple locations in June.

 Important: Make sure the farmers market or stand you choose takes the vouchers.  A display sign should indicate: FARMERS MARKET CHECKS ACCEPTED HERE.  If in doubt, ASK. Checks are accepted June – October 15. Be sure to sign your check. No cash, change, refunds or credits will be given. Sales tax is not charged.

The Nutrition Sites and Meals To Go! (home delivery) will make every effort to be open regardless of weather conditions. Rarely, a weather emergency may necessitate site closure or delayed home deliveries.
