Health Care Reform – Preventing Medicare Fraud and Abuse

Many individuals are committed to helping by volunteering in our communities. The Indiana Association of Area Agencies on Aging and its 16 statewide affiliates are committed to fighting Medicare fraud and abuse through a program called the Indiana SMP Project.

LifeSpan Resources has a need for volunteers who want to become involved in this health care reform effort. Medicare fraud and abuse is a $60 billion problem and we need some “angry Hoosiers” to join us to help seniors recognize fraud and abuse and protect the system from the myriad of scams aimed at older adults and individuals with disabilities. Volunteers will assist in offering educational presentations and one-on-one counseling in assisting seniors and the disabled to recognized fraud and abuse.
